Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Essam Elkordi, President of Alamein International University, and Professor Dr. Hisham Gaber, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and in line with the university’s keenness to strengthen relations and partnerships with international institutions and attract new ideas aimed at continuous and effective development and improvement of the academic programs at the university, a visit was hosted for Professor Dr. Ahmed El-Sawi – former professor and head of the Engineering Technology Department at Tennessee Tech University in America and a member of the Association of Egyptian-American Scholars (AEAS). His visit lasted for three consecutive days, during which he visited the Computer Science and Engineering College led by Professor Dr. Mustafa ElNainay, the Engineering College led by Professor Dr. Remon Eskandar, and the Science College led by Professor Dr. Mohamed Salem, with the participation of a number of faculty members from these colleges. The curricula of some programs were presented and reviewed in a series of consecutive meetings and workshops. He expressed admiration for the alignment of the university’s academic programs with international standards and proposed several suggestions, such as introducing sub-specialisations for each major, aimed at improving the academic curricula and enhancing graduates’ competitiveness globally. Additionally, a field visit to the laboratories and workshops of the Engineering College was conducted on the last day of the visit, where he expressed his admiration for the university’s commitment to providing the latest educational devices that further connect students with the industry and qualify them for the local and international job markets. He also noted that the devices and equipment in the workshops and laboratories sometimes match or even exceed those found in American universities, representing a strong and effective international competitive advantage for Alamein International University.
