As a continuation of the series of distinguished lecturers visits to Alamein International University (AIU), Prof. Dr. Hesham Gaber- Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr. Khadiga Ismail- Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Prof.Dr. Hanan Algewely- Advisor to the President of the University for Quality and Academic Excellence, welcomed Dr. Karim Ibrahim – Assistant Professor at the University of New South Wales, Australia.
The meeting included discussing ways of joint cooperation in the fields of teaching and experiential learning for students of the Faculty of Pharmacy. The meeting was followed by a campus tour to the premises of Alamein International University where Dr. Karim praised the university, its buildings, equipment and the programs offered by to AIU students especially “Doctor of Pharmacy” program.
The meeting was attended by Dr. Mohamed Ezzat Amin – coordinator of social responsibility activities at AIU.
After the reception, Dr. Karim gave two lectures:
The first lecture included Dr. Karim Ibrahim’s journey in the practice of clinical pharmacy starting from Alexandria to his current position as a leader at the South Wales Cancer Institute in addition to his work at the university. The lecture was well received by the students who took memorial photos with the guest.
The second lecture talked about the care of patients with cancer and blood diseases, especially marrow transplant patients which focused on the role of the pharmacist in providing care to these patients.
