Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Essam Elkordi- President of Alamein International University (AIU) and Prof. Dr. Hesham Gaber- Vice President for Academic Affairs and for increasing joint international programs between Alamein International University (AIU) and many prestigious international universities, Prof. Dr. Mustafa ElNainay- Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, visited James Madison University – USA where he met Prof. Robert Kolvoord – Dean of the Faculty of Integrated Science and Engineering, Prof. Jeff Tang- Associate Dean, Prof. Samy El-Tawab – Head of the Information Technology Program in the Department of Computer Science where it was agreed to implement a joint program between the two universities in the field of information technology as well as student exchange program.
It was also agreed to cooperate in the implementation of joint projects between students of the two universities in the field of smart universities and cities, and the establishment of a centre of excellence in applied smart cities research to serve the New Alamein City, where James Madison University hosts a group of students of Alamein International University during the summer and Alamein International University hosts a group of James Madison students during January every year
