Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Essam El kordi – President of Alamein International University, and Professor Dr. Hesham Gaber – Vice President for Academic Affairs, because of AIU’s keenness to create an interactive educational environment for its students, and its interest in providing its students with distinguished international experiences in their various fields of study, The Faculty of Engineering, headed by Professor Dr. Rimon Iskander – Director of Engineering Sciences Programs and under the supervision of Dr. Amr Mamdouh – Lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering, conducted a field trip for students of the “Architectural Design and Digital Architecture” program, to attend the “Reviving the Legend” celebration organized by the Academic Research Sector at the Library of Alexandria, in the presence of Mrs. Hilde Klemtsdal – Norwegian Ambassador to Egypt and members of the original team from the Norwegian architectural office “Snohta” to tell and explain the story of the design and construction of the new Library of Alexandria.
This trip comes within the framework of field and scientific visits for students in order to link the theoretical course with practical application and to support the formation of applied concepts about the design and implementation of iconic architectural projects.
Scientific trips are considered an essential part of the college’s teaching methods, as well as one of the most important educational means to expand students’ horizons and work to entwine academic courses with global applied aspects.
