Prof. Dr. Essam ElKordi, President of Alamein International University, received Mr. Mike Damiano, Director of National Education Initiatives at the International Coursera Company, to discuss steps to implement partnership between the university and Coursera learning platform. Coursera is one of the largest learning platforms in the world, and Alamein International University is the first Egyptian university to contract with Coursera as a lighthouse partner.
At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Essam ElKordi introduced the university, its faculties, programs and the international partnerships concluded with various universities. He expressed his desire for more cooperation with Coursera.
During the meeting, Mr. Damiano reviewed Coursera’s experiences with neighboring countries, such as Morocco and Saudi Arabia in offering foundation year courses for universities. He added that Coursera seeks to learn more about challenges facing Egyptian higher education, to continue serving Egyptian students.

On the other hand, Mr. Damiano praised the university, its equipment, and the pioneering thought in developing education in it, and the idea of integrating Coursera courses within the university’s curricula in the various programs.
