Technology Innovation Commercialization Office

TICO is an office comprises of three units that work together to support research and innovation through making the best networks and getting funds for research ideas, commercialization of research outcomes and supporting industry answering their challenges in an atmosphere supporting the whole research and development cycle.

Objective

  • Support excellent innovative research in AIU and neighbourhood community in way making research for investment and community benefit. The long term objective is establishing start-ups, incubators and inventions for industry.

Structure

GICO “Grants & International Cooperation Office”

The office is responsible for finding funding and helping faculties applying for winning proposals through:

  • Finding and disseminating all available funding opportunities
  • Capacity building in grants writing and project management
  • Set up cooperation with national bodies including universities, research centers, governmental and non- governmental organizations.
  • Establishing international cooperation with prestigious universities, research centers and others.

TTO “Technology Transfer Office”

The office responsible for industry- academia partnership in mutual way through:

  • Setting up database for industrial challenges especially in the neighborhood area.
  • Commercialization of research outcomes through participation in conferences, workshops and other relevant events.
  • Through cooperation with GICO office, supporting faculties to apply for grants with industrial partners in calls for proposal aiming to solve industrial challenges.

TISC “Technology Innovation Support Center”

The center works to provide faculties with optimum atmosphere of innovation through helping faculties protecting their property rights and support logistics of technology transfer, a mission to be achieved through:

  • Setting up an AIU bylaws for intellectual property rights
  • Working as focal office for patency and intellectual property rights applications.
  • Raising the faculty awareness about IPRs and relevant issues.
