Biography
Prof. Yehia Aboushady graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry, Alexandria University in 1983 with an Honors Degree, and obtained both his Masters and Doctorate degrees in Fixed Prosthodontics from the same University. He continued his professional career in both teaching and research until he became a Professor of Fixed Prosthodontics in 2009, continuing as the head of the Conservative Dentistry department in 2015 and the vice dean for graduate studies and research (2015-2018).
He is currently a Professor at the Conservative Dentistry department, Faculy of Dentistry, Alexandria University, and the Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at Alamein International University. During his career he taught and lectured both undergraduate and postgraduate students, supervising both preclinical and clinical sessions, and supervised comprehensive care clinics including assessment of undergraduate students’ final clinical examinations. He has also participated in the progress of research at the faculty, supervising both Masters and PhD theses and has numerous international and national publications. He has also been employed as a Visiting Professor, at the Faculty of Dentistry, Beirut Arab University, Lebanon, and at Pharos University, Egypt teaching posrgraduate students, and as an external examiner for theses defense committees. He was also a member of the scientific committee for promotion of Assistant Professors and Professors in Fixed Prosthodontics (2016 – 2019).
Prof. Aboushady was able to relaunch the Alexandria Dental Journal in 2015, a peer-reviewed journal and the official journal of the Faculty of Dentistry, Alexandria University. He served as the editor–in–chief of the Journal from (2015-2018). Dr. Aboushady has attended multiple national and international dental conferences, participated in the organizing committees, and was appointed vice president and general secretary for the 21st (2016) and 22nd (2018) Alexandria International Dental Congress respectively, and the general secretary of the 2nd Fixed Prosthodontics Congress in 2018.
