Biography

Islam Elkabani received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from New Mexico State University (NMSU), USA in 2007. He worked as Research Associate and Teaching Associate for most of his graduate studies at NMSU. He is also a member of the Knowledge Representation, Logic, and Advanced Programming Laboratory (KLAP) team at NMSU and participated in many research projects funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) during the period of 2001 and 2007. He worked as an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the Faculty of Science, Alexandria University, Egypt starting from 2007.

He worked as an adjunct professor at Beirut Arab University, Lebanon during the period of 2009 till 2020. He also worked as a part-time faculty member at many reputed universities and institutes in Egypt such as the Arab Academy for Science and Technology (AAST) and the Information Technology Institute (ITI). He is currently an Assistant Professor at Alamein International University and member of Alexandria Quantum Computing Group (AleQCG) at Alexandria University. His research interests include Knowledge Representation, Logic Programming, Natural Language Processing, Quantum Computing and Data Mining. He is currently participating in some active research in using logic programming in quantum circuits optimization, quantum machine learning and using deep Learning in natural Language processing applications.
