Alamein International University is looking for candidates to fulfill the following open position in the Faculty of Pharmacy:

  • Full Professor of Pharmaceutics

–    We are searching for experienced individuals with proven ability to establish, develop, and teach Pharmaceutics courses to undergraduate PharmD students tailored to national and international curricular standards, as well as contribute to the development and execution of Experiential Learning Programs.

–    The successful applicant will be expected to develop a vibrant, internal, or externally funded research program with a focus on translational potential.

–    The successful candidate is expected to show a strong commitment to graduate training and will eventually be required to develop and contribute to a multi-disciplinary graduate studies program offering Master’s and PhD degrees.

–    We especially encourage applications from candidates with both research and academic practice backgrounds capable of enriching the undergraduate and graduate student learning and research experience.

Job Information

  • Job Title:  Full Professor of Pharmaceutics
  • Job Location: Alamein International University, New Alamein City, Matrouh Governate 
  • Job Nature: Full Time
  • Working Hours: 9am-4pm, Sunday to Thursday  
  • Contract Duration: one year contract, renewable based on performance evaluation and university needs.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teaching 3-4 courses per semester for the Fall and Spring semesters and 1-2 courses in the summer semester, including all related preparation, examination, and accreditation work.
  • Preparing files for quality and accreditation
  • Holding office hours (face-to-face and/or online) to support students.
  • Managing the course LMS contents.
  • Supervising field training for undergraduate students.
  • Preparing research proposals, attracting research funding if possible, and conduct research to establish a research group in the area of expertise. A reduced course load can be given in case of funding is secured.
  • Promoting the Innovation and Entrepreneurship mission of the University.
  • Contributing to advance the local and national community.
  • Submitting of an annual report with all his/her teaching, research, and community service achievements.
  • Performing any other duties as assigned by the upper administration.    

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy from an Accredited University. 
  • Applicants must have a PhD degree (fulfill criteria of Supreme Council of Universities) and post-doctoral experience in Pharmaceutics and a demonstrated ability to conduct original, innovative research with a solid track record of previous research funding, independent publications, and or international patency is preferred. Training with reputable international organizers & organizations is a preference.
  • Strong evidence of excellence in different teaching techniques including didactic lectures, flipped classrooms, team-based learning, and other modes of interactive pedagogy as well as being well-versed in developing course content and assessment methods on learning management systems are a must.
  • Experience in leadership related to departmental and administrative tasks is a preference.
  • Experience with curricular development and content mapping to professional competencies are preferred.
  • Experience in working with international organizations on educational collaborations is preferred.
  • Experience with interprofessional education is preferred.
  • An outstanding portfolio that includes other experiences related to university functions and activities that may contribute to AIU’s success is a plus.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an interest in fostering collaborations with faculty members in the university and elsewhere are an asset.
  • Excellent English language command (writing and speaking). 
  • Applicant must hold Egyptian citizenship.
