Alamein International University is seeking candidates to fill the following open position in the Field of Engineering:
Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering (Design Mechanical Division)
Job Information
- Job Title: Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering.
- Specialization: Design Mechanical Division.
- Job Location: Alamein International University, New Alamein City, Matrouh Governate
- Job Nature: Full Time
- Working Hours: 9am-4pm, Sunday to Thursday
- Contract Duration: one year contract, renewable based on performance evaluation and university needs.
Job Description:
The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching courses, conducting and promoting research, as well as participating in accreditation and administrative work.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Teach 12-15 hours per semester (fall and spring) and 3-5 hours in the summer semester, including preparation, examinations, and accreditation tasks.
• Prepare quality and accreditation files.
• Hold office hours (in-person and/or online) to assist students.
• Manage course content on the Learning Management System (LMS).
• Supervise undergraduate field training.
• Develop research proposals, secure funding, and establish a research group in their area of expertise. (A reduced teaching load may be granted if significant funding is secured.)
• Promote the university’s mission of Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
• Contribute to community engagement at local and national levels.
• Submit an annual report summarizing teaching, research, and community service achievements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the university administration.
Minimum Job Requirements:
• Ph.D. in Engineering from an accredited university (Degree granted 2020 or later), specializing in Mechanical Engineering (Design Mechanical Division).
• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• Age less than 40 years old by 1/1/2025.
• Excellent Teaching and research record in Mechatronics Engineering is required.
• Excellent AIU Administration works in Mechatronics Engineering is required.
• Experience with Student Information Systems (SIS), Learning Management Systems (LMS), and Canvas.
• Experience in general and specialized computer software.
• Knowledge of accreditation processes.
• Significant experience in academic advising and mentoring students.
• Outstanding portfolio that includes other experiences related to university functions and activities that may contribute to AIU’s success is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to develop new courses.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Fluency in English (both written and spoken).
• Egyptian citizenship is required.
