The Interior Design Program at AIU is requesting a full-time Assistant /Associate Professor job for the academic year 2024/ 2025.

- Job Title: Assistant /Associate Professor, Field of Arts & Design
- Job Location: Alamein International University, New Alamein City, Matrouh Governate
- Job Nature: Full Time
- Working Hours: 9am-4pm, Sunday to Thursday
- Contract Duration: one year contract, renewable based on performance evaluation and university needs.
Job Description:
The Applicants shall be responsible for teaching courses and conducting and promoting research in the University, besides the accreditation and other administrative work. The duties and responsibilities and minimum required qualifications are listed below.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teaching 3-4 courses per semester for the Fall and Spring semesters and 1-3 course(s) in the summer semester, including all related preparation, examination, and accreditation work.
- Hold office hours (face-to-face and/or online) to support students.
- Managing the course SIS and canvas contents.
- Supervise field training for undergraduate students.
- Prepare research proposals, attract research funding, and conduct research to establish a research group in the field of expertise. A reduced course load can be given in case of funding is secured.
- Promote the Innovation and Entrepreneurship mission of the University.
- Contribute to advance the local and national community.
- Submit a yearly report with all his/her teaching, research, and community service achievements.
- Ability to build and develop new academic courses.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the upper administration.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- MSc. and PhD in Fine Arts/ Applied Arts/ Arts & Design from an accredited university (International Universities are a plus) which fulfill the criteria of the Supreme Council of Universities and are equivalent provided by Egyptian Universities.
- BSc. Fine Arts/ Applied Arts/ Arts & Design graduates from an accredited university with a very good degree of honor, and a very good in graduation project.
- Postdoctoral studies abroad are preferred.
- Experience as Assistant /Associate Professor of at least 3 years at public and/or private university level, new National universities are strongly preferred.
- Excellent teaching record in the following courses: Building Construction, Geometric Perspective, Furniture Design, Engineering Drawing, Furniture Development, Contemporary of Interior Design, Building Systems and Codes, and Graduation Project.
- Experience in quality assurance and accreditation as well as administrative work.
- Has research scientific publications in the field of specialization.
- Applicants should show strong interpersonal communication skills and display their portfolio.
- Excellent English language command (writing and speaking).
- Leadership, teaching skills, and loyalty.
- Excellent computer skills (Proficient user of MS Office, Internet), additionally (AutoCAD, Photoshop, Sketch up, Rhino-grasshopper).
- Working positively and cooperatively with students, internal and external teams, and international organizations.
- Applicant must hold Egyptian citizenship.
