Conclusion of the Summer Training Program for the First Cohort of Biomedical Engineering Students at Andalusia Hospitals in Alexandria

Under the patronage of Prof. Essam Elkordi – President of Alamein International University, and Prof. Hesham Gaber – Vice President for Academic Affairs, and led by Prof. Remon Eskander – Director of Academic Programs at the Faculty of Engineering, and supervised by Dr. Lamies Darwish – Lecturer in the Biomedical Engineering Program, the Faculty of Engineering at Alamein International University concluded the intensive summer training program for the first cohort of students in the Biomedical Engineering Program.

The program was held in collaboration with Andalusia Academy, affiliated with Andalusia Hospitals in Alexandria, from July 4 to August 4, 2025.

The training was conducted at two branches of Andalusia Hospitals – El-Shalalat and Smouha – and is considered one of the most prominent specialized field training programs in the field of biomedical engineering. It aimed to enhance students’ practical skills and bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world applications in hospital settings.

The training covered two main tracks:

– Medical Equipment Maintenance:

Students gained hands-on experience in handling modern medical devices, learning maintenance procedures and operational efficiency checks.

– Hospital Management:

Students were introduced to modern hospital management systems, including planning methods and daily operational practices in healthcare institutions.

The students showed high levels of engagement throughout the program, emphasizing how this experience enhanced their practical competencies and broadened their professional perspectives. Trainers from Andalusia Academy praised the students’ outstanding academic performance, strong commitment, and high-level skills—testament to the quality of education at the Faculty of Engineering, Alamein International University.

This successful collaboration between the Faculty of Engineering and Andalusia Academy stands as a model for effectively bridging the gap between academic education and labor market demands by providing applied learning opportunities that prepare students for real-world challenges in biomedical engineering.

At the program’s conclusion, the faculty extends its sincere appreciation to Prof. Hossam Hamdy Khalil – Director of Andalusia Academy – for his ongoing support and fruitful cooperation in making this training a success and for providing an ideal learning environment for students.
