Interior Design Teaching Assistant

The Interior Design Program at the Department of Environmental Design is requesting a full-time job as Teaching Assistant for the academic year 2025/ 2026.
The Candidate will supervise the work of students, provide advice on study skills, and help them with learning projects, Set and mark assignments under the guidance of the course instructor as well as assessing the work and progress of students by reference to defined criteria and provide constructive feedback to students.

Job Information

  • Job Title: Teaching Assistant
  • Job Location: Alamein International University, New Alamein City, Matrouh Governate 
  • Job Nature: Full Time
  • Working Hours: 9 am-4 pm, 5 days a week  
  • Contract Duration: One-year contract, renewable based on performance evaluation and university needs. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Attend lectures for the assigned courses.  
  • Teaching load of 24-30 hours per week of tutorials for the Fall and Spring semesters and 6-10 hours in the summer semester, including all related preparation, examination, and accreditation work. 
  • Assist in preparing studios, courses assignments and labs and answer keys for assignments under the guidance of the course instructor. 
  • Help in preparing documents for quality and accreditation.
  • Conduct research under the supervision of the existing Faculty members. 
  • Act as an academic advisor for a group of students. 
  • Exams proctoring and attendance recording 
  • Assist in grading assignments, quizzes, lab exams, and midterm exams. 
  • Hold office hours (face-to-face and online) to support students. 
  • Help in managing the course LMS contents 
  • Interact with the students using discussion groups and forms on the LMS. 
  • Submit a yearly report with his/her achievements. 
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the upper administration.  

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in interior design from an accredited university (International Universities is a plus)
  • with a minimum 3.7 GPA or equivalent, dated 2018 or newer.
  • Master’s degree in interior design dated 2023 or newer from an accredited university.
  • Teaching experience is preferable.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Excellent English language command (writing and speaking).
  • Leadership, teaching and research skills and loyalty.
  • Excellent computer skills (Proficient user of MS Office, Internet), additionally to (Adobe Photoshop, and Autodesk Software: AutoCAD, 3Ds MAX).
  • High level of interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team across both the education and service sectors.
  • Ability to work positively and cooperatively with students, internal and external teams, and agencies.
  • Proven ability, commitment, and passion for engaging in research activities.
  • Male candidates should have the exemption/ end of military service certificate.
  • Applicant must hold Egyptian citizenship.

Assessment Method:

Short-listed candidates will be invited for interviews and presentations.
