Alamein International University is seeking candidates to fill the following open position in the Faculty of Engineering:
Assistant Professor / Associate Professor / Full Professor of Petroleum & Gas Engineering
The Applicants shall be responsible for teaching Petroleum & Gas Engineering courses and conducting and promoting research in the University, besides the accreditation and administrative work. The duties and responsibilities and minimum required qualifications are listed below.
Job Information
- Job Title: Assistant Professor / Associate Professor / Full Professor of Petroleum & Gas Engineering.
- Job Location: Alamein International University, New Alamein City, Matrouh Governate
- Job Nature: Full Time
- Working Hours: 9 am-4 pm, 5 days a week
- Contract Duration: One-year contract, renewable based on performance evaluation and university needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach 12-15 hours per semester (fall and spring) and 3-5 hours in the summer semester, including preparation, examinations, and accreditation tasks.
- Prepare quality and accreditation files.
- Hold office hours (in-person and/or online) to assist students.
- Manage course content on the Learning Management System (LMS).
- Supervise undergraduate field training.
- Develop research proposals, secure funding, and establish a research group in their area of expertise. (A reduced teaching load may be granted if significant funding is secured)
- Promote the university’s mission of Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
- Contribute to community engagement at national and international levels.
- Submit an annual report summarizing teaching, research, and community service achievements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the university administration.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Ph.D. degree in Petroleum & Gas Engineering from international/national accredited University.
- M.Sc. degree in Petroleum & Gas Engineering from international/national accredited University, similar fields can be considered in case of outstanding portfolio.
- B.Sc. degree in Petroleum & Gas Engineering from accredited university with minimum grade very good, similar fields can be considered in case of outstanding portfolio.
- Age in 1st Oct. 2025: (less than 45 years old in case of Assistant Professor / less than 50 years old in case of Associate Professor / less than 55 years old in case of Full Professor).
- Excellent Teaching and research record in Petroleum & Gas Engineering is required.
- Experience not less than 3 years in university teaching after the PhD degree award.
- Experience with Student Information Systems (SIS), Learning Management Systems (LMS), and Canvas.
- Supervised M.Sc.and /or Ph.D thesis.
- Practical experience is a plus.
- Experience in academic advising and mentoring students.
- Knowledge in Accreditation process.
- Outstanding portfolio that includes other experiences related to university functions and activities that may contribute to AIU’s success is a plus.
- Knowledge about using Student Information Systems and Learning Management Systems.
- Experience in developing new courses.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent English skills (both written and spoken).
