Prof. Dr. Essam Elkordi – President of AIU, and Prof. Dr. Hesham Gaber – Vice President for Academic Affairs received a high-level delegation from Shanghai University of China, in the presence of a number of college deans and program directors, on Monday, October 23, 2023.

The delegation included a number of scientific and academic figures at the Chinese University of Shanghai, namely: Prof. Dr. Ouyang Hua – Vice President of the University, Prof. Ning Zhenjiang – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Prof. Dr. Sheng Wancheng – Head of the Science Department, Prof. Dr. Yin Feng – Professor, College of Economics, Prof. Li Yingjie – Dean of the College of International Education, Prof. Dr. Xu Xiaohong – Deputy Director of International Affairs, Prof. Dr. Yao Shiming.

The visit included a series of fruitful discussions on ways of cooperation between the two universities, during which the focus was on the fields of arts, design, business, and basic sciences. It was agreed to sign a cooperation agreement between the two universities in these fields. The possibility of establishing joint programs and student exchange programs in the fields of engineering and computer engineering sciences was also discussed. This cooperation aims to enhance cultural and academic exchange between the two universities.

Prof. Dr. Essam Elkordi, President of the University, expressed his welcome to the Shanghai University delegation, stressing the importance of cooperation between Egyptian universities and Chinese universities, to enhance the level of education and advance the scientific system.
After the meeting, the delegation had a tour in the university. The tour included the colleges of Computer Science and Engineering, Engineering, Arts and Design, Advanced Basic Sciences, and Business, in addition to visiting scientific laboratories, teaching halls, and laboratories at the university. The delegation praised the modern and distinguished infrastructure and facilities that keep pace with the development of major international universities, expressing its pleasure at visiting the university as well as its desire to enhance cooperation with the university in the future.

This visit to AIU comes within the framework of the university’s great efforts to enhance international cooperation with major international universities. This visit is also a valuable opportunity to enhance academic and scientific cooperation between AIU and the Chinese University of Shanghai, which will open doors for the exchange of knowledge and experiences between the two sides.
