Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Essam El kordi – President of Alamein International University and Professor Dr. Hesham Gaber – Vice President of the University for Academic Affairs, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Safaa Abdel Salam – Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Design, the university was honoured to welcome Professor Dr. Abdel Salam Eid – Emeritus Professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts – Alexandria University. Within the framework of the activities of the “Giving Without Borders” celebration, this is in honour of His Excellency for his rich artistic and creative journey, which culminated in his obtaining the Nile Award for Egyptian Creators in the Field of Arts for the year 2023, which is awarded by the Supreme Council of Culture and is considered the highest award and honor in this field.

The celebration began with the national anthem, followed by an opening speech delivered by Professor Dr. Safaa Abdel Salam – Dean of the College of Arts and Design; then a speech by Professor Dr. Essam El kordi – President of the University. The audience then enjoyed a short film about the artistic life and achievements achieved by Professor Dr. Abdel Salam Eid – throughout his great artistic career. Then His Excellency addressed the audience with a kind word, through which he expressed his gratitude and happiness with the warm reception and generous hospitality. This was in the presence of a large number of university students, led by the deans of colleges, program directors, faculty members, and the academic junior staff of the College of Arts and Design.

The attendees then headed to the opening of the first exhibition for second-level students in the graphic design and brand building program in the College of Arts and Design building. The students expressed the individuality of the College of Arts and Design at AIU through their various artistic works, including photography, drawing, and visual arts. Professor Dr. Abdel Salam Eid also praised the students’ artistic works and looked forward to a bright artistic future for them.

At the end of the celebration, Professor Dr. Abdel Salam Eid thanked and appreciated the university administration, led by Professor Dr. Essam El kordi – President of the University, Professor Dr. Hesham Gaber – Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Professor Dr. Safaa Abdel Salam – Dean of the College of Arts and Design.
