Prof. Dr. Essam Elkordi – President of Alamein International University participated in the opening activities of the Social Responsibility Council of the Association of Arab Universities at the Union meeting held on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, via the Zoom platform. The opening took place in the presence of Prof. Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama – Secretary General of the Association of Arab Universities, Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Abu Muwais – Palestinian Minister of Higher Education, Prof. Dr. Samir Al-Najdi – President of Al-Quds Open University, and Prof. Dr. Youssef Dhiyab Awad – Director of the Council for Social Responsibility of Universities Arabic, in addition to a number of experts, academics and specialists in the field of social responsibility.
The activities began with the Palestinian national anthem and the reading of Al-Fatiha for the souls of the righteous martyrs of Palestine. The opening activities included a dialogue session on the role of universities in promoting social responsibility, during which the importance of concerted efforts between Arab universities and enhancing joint cooperation to achieve sustainable development in Arab societies was discussed.
The website of the Social Responsibility Council was also opened, which will be a major platform for communication and interaction between Arab universities and the exchange of experiences and knowledge about social responsibility.
