As a continuation of the visits series by distinguished professors at Alamein International University (AIU), Prof. Dr. Essam Elkordi – President of Alamein International University and Prof. Dr. Hesham Gaber – Vice President for Academic Affairs welcomed Prof. Dr. Tarek Abdel Fattah – Professor of Chemistry and Director of Applied Sciences at Christopher Newport University in Virginia – USA and visiting professor at AIU.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Yehia Abu Shadi – Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry at Alamein International University and Prof. Dr. Khadiga Ismail – Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy (AIU).After the reception, Prof. Dr. Tarek Abdel-Fattah delivered a lecture entitled “the World of Nano-structured Materials from Fabrications to Applications” in the presence of Prof. Dr. Essam Elkordi- President of AIU and Prof. Dr. Hesham Gaber- Vice President for Academic Affairs, deans of faculties and AIU students.
The lecture was followed by answering students’ inquiries related to nanotechnology and taking some memorial photos.It is worth noting that Prof. Dr. Tarek Abdel-Fattah holds a bachelor and master degree in chemistry from Alexandria University- Egypt, and a Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry and materials from Northeastern University, Boston-USA. Dr. Abdel-Fattah is also currently Professor of Chemistry at Christopher Newport University (CNU) and Director of the Applied Research Center at Christopher Newport University Research Park, Virginia- USA.Prof. Dr. Abdel-Fattah also held the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sigma XI Group in Virginia in 2006. Dr. Tarek Abdel-Fattah also held the position of President of the American Chemical Society (ACS) for the Hampton Road Division during the years 2009-2010. He has also been a member of the Executive Committee since 2000. Dr. Abdel-Fattah published more than 140 papers, 9 international and US patents and patent applications, and more than 100 presentations at national and international conferences.
