Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Essam ElKordi, President of Alamein International University and Prof. Dr. Hisham Gaber, Vice President of the University for Academics, the Faculty of Engineering, supervised by Prof. Dr. Remon Eskander, Programs Director of Engineering, organized a site visit to St. Mark’s Cathedral in Alexandria for the students of 2nd level in Architecture in Engineering Science Programs, as part of the course of History and Theories of Medieval Architecture.
The students were guided by both Dr. Heba Jahin and Eng. Sagda Wael. This site visit comes within the framework of site and scientific visits, in order to link the theoretical courses with practical applications, and to support the theoretical and applied concepts on the Coptic history of Egypt. Scientific site visits are considered as one of the most important aspects of the educational objectives of the university, as well as to emphasize the practical experiences in theoretical courses through those site visits, which are one of the most important educational ways to broaden the horizons of students and strengthen the linking between courses and practical aspects.
