AIU Organizes Event to Promote Quantum Science and Technology Concepts as Part of the “World Quantum City Prize” Initiative in New Alamein City

Under the patronage of Prof. Essam Elkordi, President of Alamein International University, and Prof. Hesham Gaber, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and in line with UNESCO’s declaration of 2025 as the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology, Alamein International University (AIU), in collaboration with the New Alamein City Authority, organized a public event as part of the international competition “World Quantum City Prize.” The initiative aims to disseminate the concepts of quantum science and technology in public spaces among non-specialists. The event was led by AIU’s Quantum Science and Technology Club students, who presented fundamental concepts in creative, simplified, and innovative ways.
The objectives of the event were to introduce the public to quantum science and quantum computing through interactive stations, educational games, and engaging activities designed to raise awareness about the importance of these fields and highlight their role in shaping the technologies of the future. The event also sought to emphasize AIU’s pioneering role in promoting innovation, education, and scientific awareness within the community.
The activities were carried out by QAIU (Quantum AIU community) on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at the Heritage City, and on Friday, August 29, 2025, at the Touristic walkway in New Alamein City, under the supervision of Prof. Ahmed Younes, Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at AIU. The event was attended by Prof. Mustafa Elnainay, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, along with representatives from the New Alamein City Authority.
