Alamein International University is looking for candidates to fulfill the following open position: 

Teaching Assistant in the Faculty of Computer Science and Computer Engineering 

The Teaching Assistants shall be responsible for co-teaching tutorials and labs of Computer Science and Computer Engineering courses and conducting and promoting research in the University, besides the accreditation and administrative work. The duties and responsibilities and minimum required qualifications are listed below. 

Job Information:

  • Job Title:  Teaching Assistant in the Faculty of Computer Science and Computer Engineering
  • Job Location: Alamein International University, New Alamein City, Matrouh Governate 
  • Job Nature: Full-time.
  • Working Hours: 9 AM – 4 PM, 5 days a week
  • Contract Duration: one year contract, renewable based on performance evaluation and university needs.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Attend lectures for the assigned courses.   
  • Teaching load of 24-30 hours per week of tutorials  
  • Related preparation, examination, and accreditation work.  
  • Assistance in preparing studios, courses assignments, and answer keys for assignments under the guidance of the course instructor. 
  • Conducting research under the supervision of the existing Faculty members. 
  • Attending instructor’s lectures. 
  • Exams proctoring and attendance recording. 
  • Students’ academic advising. 
  • Offering office hours (face-to-face and online) to support students. 
  • Co-managing the course SIS/ Canvas contents. 
  • Interaction with the students using discussion groups and forms on the SIS. 
  • Submission of an annual report with his/her achievements. 
  • Uploading course materials to the e-learning portal/ website(s). 
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the upper administration.   

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • A recent bachelor’s degree, of 2022 or later in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent degree from an Accredited University with a minimum CGPA of (2.8/4.0) or equivalent. Or a recent master’s degree, of 2022 or later, in Science (Math Major) or Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent degree from an accredited university with a bachelor’s degree of 2018 or later. 
  • Teaching experience is a plus 
  • Familiar with the credit hour system. 
  • Experience in academic quality and accreditation is a plus. And has the potential to assist in Accreditation process.   
  • Other experiences related to university functions and activities that may contribute to AIU’s success is a plus. 
  • Excellent Communication and presentation skills. 
  • Ability to work in a team. 
  • Excellent English language command (writing and speaking). 
  • Applicant must hold Egyptian citizenship. 

Assessment Method:

Short-listed candidates will be invited for interview and presentation.
