Alamein International University (AIU) participated in the closing ceremony of the Future Fighters against AMR program, represented by Prof. Khadija Ismail, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; Prof. Alaa Aboulfotouh, Program Director and Supervisor of the AIU team; and Aya Gamal, a fourth-year PharmD student, who presented the university team’s project during the event.
The event took place on Thursday, 4 December 2025, as part of the Future Fighters against AMR program organized by the Egyptian Drug Authority in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) and ReAct Africa. The program aims to build the capacities of young professionals, raise community awareness about antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and support the development of pharmaceutical services in Egypt.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Ne’ma Abed, WHO Representative in Egypt, and Dr. Ali Al-Omrani, Head of the Egyptian Drug Authority, along with student delegations from various Egyptian universities. The event included presentations of the participating teams’ projects, followed by honoring the winning teams in recognition of their efforts in promoting awareness and encouraging the rational use of antibiotics.
AIU’s participation in this event reflects its commitment to supporting national and international initiatives aimed at combating antimicrobial resistance, while empowering its students to contribute to public health awareness and helping build a well-informed society capable of addressing global health challenges.
