Alamein International University (AIU) is opening a job opportunity for the following position:

Head of Internal Audit Department

The Head of Internal Audit Department shall be responsible for directing the AIU’s audit function, providing governance assurance, and internal control. Minimum qualifications are listed below.

Job Information:

  • Job Title: Head of Internal Audit Department
  • Job Location: Alamein International University, New Alamein City, Matrouh Governate 
  • Job Nature: Full-time.
  • Working Hours: 9am-4pm, Sunday to Thursday  
  • Contract Duration: one year contract, renewable based on performance evaluation and university needs.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute an periodical internal audit plans that aligns with organizational goals.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of internal control environments.
  • Prepare comprehensive audit reports to senior management.
  • Ensure adherence to policies, procedures, legal, and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations to ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and management to facilitate audits and improve processes
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited university.
  • Post-graduate studies is a plus.   
  • Charted Accountant registration is a plus.
  • Professional certification such as CPA, CIA, or CISA is a plus.
  • Age should not be more than 55 years in 1/4/2026.
  • Minimum 20 years of experience in internal and/or external auditing preferably in universities.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as Financial Manager, Head of Accounting, or Head of Auditing. 
  • Significant experience in dealing with external auditors and relevant authorities.
  • Experience with ERP systems.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Excellent command of English (written and spoken).
  • Applicant must hold Egyptian citizenship.
