Alamein International University is looking for candidates to fulfill the following open position in the Faculty of Dentistry:
“Dental Clinic Infection Control Specialist”
The Dental Clinic Infection Control Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, and overseeing the infection prevention and control policies and procedures within the dental clinic. The primary aim is to ensure a safe environment for both patients and staff by minimizing the risk of infection transmission.
Job Information:
- Job Title: Dental Clinic Infection Control Specialist
- Job Location: Alamein International University, New Alamein City, Matrouh Governate
- Job Nature: Full-time.
- Working Hours: 9am-4pm, Sunday to Thursday
- Contract Duration: one year contract, renewable based on performance evaluation and university needs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and update infection control policies and procedures inside the faculty of dentistry in accordance with the latest guidelines from the Egyptian Ministry of Health, to ensure the safety of the patients, visitors, students, staff, and dental assistants and laboratory technicians.
- Educate and train all the faculty members, students, dental assistants, and laboratory technicians on infection control standards and policies.
- Organize regular staff meetings to discuss updates and changes in protocols.
- Monitor the implementation of the infection control policies, procedures and guidelines inside the faculty clinics and laboratories (including the simulation labs and pre-clinical labs).
- Conduct routine audits to ensure compliance and report formally to the administration.
- Provide the necessary guidance for post exposure prophylaxis and everything related to infection control to all faculty members, students, dental assistants, and laboratory technicians.
- Posting infection control instructions in the clinic area and the laboratories.
- Ordering the necessary supplies and equipment for the implementation of the infection control policy.
- Observing the safe disposal of medical waste and take preventive measures if hazardous situations occur.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Dentistry or Medicine from an Accredited University with minimum GPA 2.7/4.0 or equivalent)
- PhD/Master’s degree/Diploma in Dentistry or Medicine from an Accredited University with minimum GPA 2.7/4.0 or equivalent)
- Age should not exceed 48 years in 1/06/2026
- Certification in Infection Control or Hospital Management is highly desirable.
- Teaching experience is a plus.
- Has the potential to assist in Accreditation process.
- Outstanding portfolio that includes other experiences related to university functions and activities that may contribute to AIU’s success is a plus.
- Excellent Communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work in a team.
- Excellent English language command (writing and speaking).
- Applicant must hold Egyptian citizenship.
- Short listed applicants who work for governmental ministries will be asked to submit “No objection letter” signed and stamped from the central authority in the ministry within maximum 3 weeks of requesting the letter. Note that letters issued from local or sub-units will not be accepted.
Assessment Method:
Short listed candidates will be invited for interview and presentation.
