Alamein International University is looking for candidates to fill the following open position:

Assistant Professor Position in Mechanical Engineering (Design Mechanical / Mechatronics/ Robotics)

The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching courses, conducting and promoting research, as well as participating in accreditation and administrative work.

Job Information:

  • Job Title: Assistant Professor Position in Mechanical Engineering (Design Mechanical / Mechatronics/ Robotics)
  • Job Location: Alamein International University, New Alamein City, Matrouh Governate 
  • Job Nature: Full-time.
  • Working Hours: 9 AM – 4 AM, Sunday to Thursday.
  • Contract Duration: one year contract, renewable based on performance evaluation and university needs.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teaching 12-15 hours weekly.
  • Courses preparation, examination, and accreditation work. Preparing files for quality and accreditation
  • Hold office hours (face-to-face and/or online) to support students. 
  • Managing the course LMS content. 
  • Supervise field training for undergraduate students. 
  • Prepare research proposals, attract research funding, and conduct research to establish a research group in the area of expertise. A reduced course load can be given in case funding is secured. 
  • Contribute to the advancement of the local and national community.  
  • Submit a yearly report with all his/her teaching, research, and community service achievements.  
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the upper administration.   

Job Requirements:

  • Recent Ph.D. in Engineering from an accredited university, specializing in Mechanical Engineering (Design Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Robotics).
  • Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Design Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Robotics) from an accredited university.
  • B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university with minimum GPA 3.4 (of very good).
  • Excellent Teaching and research record in Mechatronics Engineering is required.
  • Experience in teaching specialized courses in Mechatronics and Robotics.
  • Experience in contributing to community-service and environmental-development projects.
  • Participation in engineering consultancy projects and professional consulting activities.
  • Practical Experience in Mechatronics Engineering is required.
  • Experience with Student Information Systems (SIS), Learning Management Systems (LMS), and Canvas.
  • Professionally usage in general and specialization computer software.
  • Ability for improving knowledge and skills.
  • Knowledge of accreditation processes.
  • Significant experience in academic advising and mentoring students.
  • Outstanding portfolio that includes other experiences related to university functions and activities that may contribute to AIU’s success is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop new courses.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken).
  • Egyptian citizenship is required.

Short-listed candidates will be invited for interview and presentation.
