Alamein International University is seeking candidates to fill the following open position in the Field of Engineering:

Assistant Professor / Associate Professor in Petroleum & Gas Engineering

Successful applicant will be responsible for teaching courses, conducting and promoting research, as well as participating in accreditation and administrative work.

Job Information:

  • Job Title: Assistant Professor / Associate Professor in Petroleum & Gas Engineering
  • Job Location: Alamein International University, New Alamein City, Matrouh Governate 
  • Job Nature: Full-time.
  • Working Hours: 9am-4pm, 4/5 days a week   
  • Contract Duration: one year contract, renewable based on performance evaluation and university needs.  

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teaching 12-15 hours weekly,
  • Courses preparation, examination, and accreditation work. 
  • Hold office hours (in-person and/or online) to assist students.
  • Manage course content on the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Supervise undergraduate field training.
  • Develop research proposals, secure funding, and establish a research group in their area of expertise. (A reduced teaching load may be granted if significant funding is secured.)
  • Promote the university’s mission of Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
  • Contribute to community engagement at local and national levels.
  • Participate in the university’s marketing efforts.
  • Submit an annual report summarizing teaching, research, and community service achievements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the university administration.
  • Ph.D. in Engineering from an accredited university, specializing in Petroleum & Gas Engineering
  • Practical experience in drilling engineering field.
  •  Scientific research publications in drilling.
  • M.Sc. and B.Sc. in Petroleum & Gas Engineering from an accredited university.
  • Excellent Teaching and research record in Petroleum & Gas Engineering is required.
  • Excellent AIU Administration works in Petroleum & Gas Engineering is required.
  • Practical experience and Academic works in AIU is a plus.
  • Age in 1st Oct. 2025: (less than 45 years old in case of Assistant Professor / less than 50 years old in case of Associate Professor).
  • Experience with Student Information Systems (SIS), Learning Management Systems (LMS), and Canvas.
  • Professionally usage in general and specialization computer software.
  • Ability for improving knowledge and skills.
  • Knowledge of accreditation processes.
  • Significant experience in academic advising and mentoring students.
  • Outstanding portfolio that includes other experiences related to university functions and activities that may contribute to AIU’s success is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop new courses.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Fluency in English (both written and spoken).
  • Applicant must hold Egyptian citizenship.
