Professor Essam Elkordi, President of Alamein International University, and Professor Hesham Gaber, Vice President for Academic Affairs, received Professor Ayman Elbaz, Chair of the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Louisville in the United States and a Member of the Board of Trustees of Alamein International University. The visit aimed to strengthen frameworks for international cooperation and promote the exchange of academic expertise between Alamein International University, the University of Louisville, and other international educational institutions.
Professor Ayman Elbaz and the accompanying delegation were welcomed by Professor Mustafa Al-Nainay, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering. The meeting included a warm reception for the visiting delegation and a presentation of the university’s vision for advancing academic programs and enhancing international partnerships.
The visit featured several coordination meetings, including an expanded meeting to discuss the readiness of the Faculty of Engineering programs for academic accreditation. The meeting was attended by Professor Remon Iskander, Program Director at the Faculty of Engineering, during which international accreditation requirements and standards were reviewed, along with approaches to developing curricula in line with global best practices in engineering education, with the participation of the Faculty of Engineering team.
The visit also included a comprehensive introductory seminar on academic partnership programs with the University of Louisville, within the framework of the distinguished academic cooperation between the two institutions. During the seminar, Professor Ayman Elbaz presented the joint study pathways and opportunities for enrollment in international programs.
The seminar highlighted the Dual Bachelor’s Degree Program, which enables students to earn two degrees, a Bachelor’s degree from Alamein International University and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisville, through two study pathways. These include studying two years at Alamein International University and two years at the University of Louisville, or studying three years at Alamein International University and one year at the University of Louisville.
The visit also reviewed the Joint Master’s Program designed for final year students and graduates, which offers an accelerated pathway to obtain a Master’s degree in Engineering Sciences within one year. Students complete part of the required credit hours at Alamein International University and then fulfill the remaining requirements at the University of Louisville.
The visit concluded with a meeting with the deans of the faculties, during which mechanisms for determining upcoming summer training scholarships were discussed, along with ways to further enhance joint academic cooperation. These efforts support Alamein International University’s strategy for the internationalization of education and the provision of outstanding educational and training opportunities for its students.
