Under the patronage of Professor Dr. Essam Elkordi, President of Alamein International University, and Professor Dr. Hesham Gaber, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and within the framework of the University’s commitment to supporting Egypt Vision 2030—which places human development and the advancement of the education system at the forefront of national priorities— the Faculty of Engineering at Alamein International University organized a field academic visit for students of the Architectural Design and Digital Architecture program to Cairo University on Tuesday, February 12, 2026.
The visit was led by Prof. Dr. Remon Eskandar,, Director of Academic Programs, who consistently supports diversifying students’ sources of knowledge, and was academically coordinated and supervised by Dr. Amr Mamdouh, Lecturer in the program.
Key Highlights of the Visit:
• Knowledge Enrichment:
Students attended a specialized lecture delivered by internationally renowned architect Karim Ibrahim on the Esna Historic City Development Project, recipient of the 2025 Aga Khan Award for Architecture. The lecture provided students with valuable insight into global standards of excellence in heritage-based urban development projects.
• Field Applications:
The visit included guided tours of several distinguished architectural projects aimed at broadening the visual and technical perspectives of graduation project students and strengthening their ability to connect theoretical knowledge with practical implementation.
• Academic Collaboration:
The visit contributed to strengthening academic and professional ties between the Architecture Department at Alamein International University and its counterpart at Cairo University, fostering the exchange of academic expertise and perspectives between the two institutions.
At the conclusion of the visit, Alamein International University extends its sincere appreciation to Prof. Dr. Sherine Wahba for the warm welcome and excellent organization, reflecting the spirit of fruitful cooperation among Egyptian academic institutions.
