Alamein International University Hosts Informational Session on Erasmus+ and Other EU-Funded Grants Supporting Research, Innovation, and Higher Education

Under the auspices of Professor Dr. Essam Elkordi, President of Alamein International University, and Professor Dr. Hesham Gaber, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Alamein International University hosted the informational session for the EU-funded Erasmus+ program, in collaboration with the National Erasmus+ Office in Egypt (NEO Egypt).

The event was attended by deans and program directors from Alamein International University, alongside several academic leaders from Egyptian universities. Among the participants were Professor Dr. Ahmed El-Sabbagh, Vice President of the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology, and Professor Dr. Alaa Arafa, Dean of the Faculty of Industry and Energy at the Technological University of Borg El Arab. Faculty members and administrative staff from Alamein International University also attended, along with students from AIU and other Egyptian universities, including the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology, fostering a diverse audience and knowledge exchange.

Professor Dr. Mustafa Elnainay, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, Professor Dr. Ahmed Elyazbi, Director of the Scientific Research Center, and Professor Dr. Rasha Sheneity, Director of the International Relations Office, welcomed Dr. Zeinab Al-Sadr, National Erasmus+ Coordinator for Egypt, and Dr. Heba Gaber, EU Commission Officer for Research and Innovation in Egypt.

The session reflects AIU’s efforts to strengthen cooperation with international bodies supporting higher education, research, and innovation. The program included presentations on opportunities for Egypt-EU collaboration in scientific research and innovation, prospects for joint research, academic exchange opportunities, and funding available through the Erasmus+ program, as well as participation mechanisms for Horizon Europe. The event also featured extensive discussions between attendees and speakers about available opportunities, application procedures, and practical guidance for participants.

This initiative underscores Alamein International University’s commitment to enhancing international collaboration and providing its students and researchers with unique opportunities to engage in leading European initiatives, supporting the development of academic and research capacities and contributing to Egypt’s Vision 2030 objectives in education and scientific research.
