Professor Essam El Kordi, President of Alamein International University (AIU), and Professor Hesham Gaber, Vice President for Academic Affairs, welcomed Professor Wael Al-Rais, Director of the Center for Public Health at the University of Nebraska, USA, in the presence of Professor Mohamed Ibrahim Kamel, Director of the Public Health Program at AIU. The meeting focused on exploring opportunities for academic and research collaboration between the two institutions in the field of public health.

During the meeting, both parties discussed the foundations for future cooperation between Alamein International University and the University of Nebraska. Discussions covered opportunities for student exchange and the provision of a variety of training programs for AIU students, aimed at enhancing their academic and practical competencies and preparing them for the labor market in accordance with international standards.

The discussions also addressed the possibility of implementing joint research projects in areas related to public health, supporting the exchange of scientific expertise and strengthening research productivity between the two institutions.

As part of efforts to promote academic and professional development opportunities, both sides emphasized the importance of encouraging faculty members and students to apply for the diverse scholarships and programs offered by the Fulbright Commission and to benefit from the educational and research opportunities it provides. The meeting also explored the possibility of establishing a Fulbright office at Alamein International University to further enhance academic and cultural exchange and create new avenues for international cooperation.

On the sidelines of the visit, Professor Wael Al-Rais held a meeting with faculty members, teaching assistants, and a number of fourth-level Public Health Program students. During the session, students’ graduation projects were presented and discussed, and views were exchanged on ways to further develop and maximize the impact of these projects. The discussions also explored opportunities to expand their implementation and extend their reach to serve the community surrounding the university, contributing to the transformation of these projects into sustainable community-based initiatives with a lasting societal impact.
