Under the patronage of Prof. Essam Elkordi, President of Alamein International University, and Prof. Hesham Gaber, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and under the supervision of Prof. Mohamed Salem, Academic Programs Director of the Faculty of Science, Alamein International University continues to strengthen its position as a leading institution that fosters academic excellence and scientific research by encouraging its students to actively participate in scientific conferences and academic events that enhance their research capabilities and broaden their academic experience.
In this context, students from the Faculty of Science at Alamein International University achieved a new academic milestone by winning Third Place in the Poster Competition during The 13th Student & 6th Postgraduate Conference for Research & Innovations, organized by the Faculty of Science at Alexandria University on July 19, 2026. The conference brought together outstanding undergraduate and postgraduate students, researchers, and academics from various universities and research institutions.
The winning team consisted of Rwan Mohamed Yehia, Haneen Hossam El-Din, Reham Hamada Abdelaziz, Sandra Adel Gad, and Mariam Raafat Attallah, under the supervision of Prof. Doaa Gharib. The team presented an outstanding research poster entitled:
“Targeting MASLD-Driven Hepatocarcinogenesis Using Berberine/ZnO and Resveratrol-Loaded Mesoporous Silica Nanoparticles.”
The research introduced an innovative therapeutic approach targeting the progression of Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD)-driven hepatocarcinogenesis through the application of advanced nanotechnology and drug delivery systems based on resveratrol-loaded mesoporous silica nanoparticles, combined with berberine/zinc oxide (Berberine/ZnO). This strategy aims to enhance targeted therapeutic efficacy, improve the bioavailability and effectiveness of the active compounds, and pave the way for the development of more effective treatment options for liver cancer.
This achievement reflects the outstanding academic and research caliber of Alamein International University students and highlights the University’s success in establishing a comprehensive educational and research ecosystem that promotes innovation, creativity, and scientific excellence.
