AIU Biomedical Engineering Student Wins Third Place at an International Conference with an Innovative AI-Based Early Detection Method for Parkinson’s Disorder

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Essam Elkordi, President of Alamein International University, and Prof. Dr. Hesham Gaber, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and led by Prof. Dr. Remon Eskander, Director of Academic Programs at the Faculty of Engineering, with coordination by Dr. Lamees Darwish, Lecturer in the Biomedical Engineering Department, student Zeinab Ahmed Ibrahim Osman from the Biomedical Engineering Department achieved an outstanding research accomplishment by winning third place in the Best Poster Presentation competition at the Third Scientific Conference in the City of Scientific Research and Technological Applications in Borg El Arab, held on November 10–11, 2025.

The conference was organized under the theme:

“Emerging Technologies and Their Relationship to Sustainable Development”,

and witnessed the participation of distinguished researchers and academics at both the regional and international levels, making it a leading platform for presenting scientific innovations.

Zeinab participated in the “Emerging Technologies and Digital Transformation” track, where she presented a pioneering research project proposing an innovative method for the early detection of Parkinson’s disorder using artificial intelligence techniques.

Her research focuses on developing an intelligent model capable of analyzing highly sensitive biomarkers to detect the disease before symptoms begin to progress, representing a significant breakthrough in biomedical engineering and opening new avenues for diagnosing neurological disorders.

Her project received exceptional attention from the judging committee, who praised the quality of the idea, the precision of the scientific methodology, and the high clinical value of the results. One of the judges stated that the research has strong potential to be registered as a patent due to its novelty and scientific significance.

Zeinab’s presentation also received wide acclaim from conference attendees, distinguished by her ability to simplify complex scientific concepts and respond confidently and clearly to all questions raised.

This achievement reflects the excellence of AIU’s Biomedical Engineering students and their ability to compete in international scientific forums, presenting innovative technological solutions that support sustainable development goals in the healthcare sector. It also confirms the high academic and research standards provided by Alamein International University to its students.
