Advanced Training to Equip Biomedical Engineering Students with 3D Design and Printing Skills in Collaboration with the Creativa Innovation & Training Hub

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Essam Elkordi, President of Alamein International University, and Prof. Dr. Hesham Gaber, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and led by Prof. Dr. Remon Eskander, Director of Academic Programs at the Faculty of Engineering, and in collaboration with the Creativa Innovation & Training Hub of the Egyptian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the first day of the intensive training program in 3D Design and 3D Printing Technologies (SolidWorks & 3D Printing) for students of the Biomedical Engineering Program launched on Thursday, 13 November 2025, at the Creativa Hub in Alexandria.

The training is supervised by Prof. Dr. Manal El-Mahdaly, Professor at the High Institute of Public Health and seconded to the Biomedical Engineering Program at AIU, with the participation of a distinguished group of specialized engineers and trainers from the Creativa program team.

This training comes within the “Prototyping Hacks” track—one of Creativa Hub’s professional pathways designed to empower engineering students with the skills needed to design and manufacture prototypes using 3D printing technologies. The program aims to equip biomedical engineering students with the ability to design and fabricate prosthetic limbs, medical devices, and functional prototypes for applied graduation projects, thereby enhancing their competitiveness in the job market and connecting academic curricula with the latest digital manufacturing technologies.

Students expressed their great enthusiasm for the program, praising its rich content and the hands-on practical experience it provides. Documentation photos were also taken to commemorate this valuable learning experience.
